Our Story
Well, lets see... Boy and girl meet, boy and girl fall in love and get married. Well, not exactly, we have known each other our whole lives practically through our very small school district, but we never really realized each other until a little later in life. One day while hanging out at the Ridge Road Inn, I told my friend Miss (Melissa Sherman) that Jay was gonna be my future husband (at this time only jokingly wishful thinking). So Jay and I would flirt, but nothing major ever came of it, until Miss decided to say I was shy and that gave me enough courage to go up to Jay and get him to dance with me, we kissed and we haven't been apart ever since. Then on December 20, 2008 (unknown by me) Jay sat my parents down and asked for their approval and permission to ask for my hand in marriage. (HOW SWEET?!) Of course they said yes, and then on December 25, 2008 he asked me to marry him.
Of course this is a whole different story, it was Christmas morning, and Gavin decided to wake us up early, still groggy I looked at the alarm clock but couldn't see the time, something was blocking it (the package with the ring in it) and went to the kitchen to get Gavin a drink. Upon returning to the bedroom to wake Jay up he asked to turn the light on, so I did and he said "looks like Santa was here", I looked over my shoulder and said "those are the presents for your family" and he finally said "no the one on the desk". It was in a large box so I was completely oblivious to the wonderful suprise waiting for me, I opened it and nearly fell off the bed when I seen the beautiful ring and he asked me those amazing words, "Will you marry me?"
Our Wedding
Our wedding is going to be held on August 14, 2010 at Peace United Church of Christ in Berrysburg PA. Guests are to arrive between 1:00pm and 2:00pm, at 2:00pm the ceremony is scheduled to start. Our colors are Clover and Sunshine. The wedding party consists of Gavin (Son of the Bride and Groom) who will help Russell Long (Father of the Bride) walk me down the aisle; Megan Zimmerman (Sister of the Groom) as the Matron of Honor, Samantha Stehr (Sister of the Groom) as the Maid of Honor, Melissa Sherman (friend of the Bride and Groom), Tiffany Etzweiler (soon to be cousin of the Bride) and Rachel Balsavadge (friend of the Bride and Groom) as the Bridesmaids; Tyler Long (Brother of the Bride) and Michael Zimmerman (Brother-in-Law of the Groom) as the Best Men, Timothy Stehr (Cousin of the Groom), Charles Carter (Cousin of the Groom) and Nathan Neiswender (Cousin of the Bride) as Groomsmen/ Ushers.
We also need to give special thanks to Elizabeth Hubler and her sisters Dusty and Sarah for helping us with our ceremony music, cake and flowers!
Our Reception
The reception will be following the ceremony at the Sacramento Fire Company Hall. Guests may go right to the reception hall but the wedding party has to get pictures first before their arrival. The catering will be done buffet style by Whery's Catering, music will be provided by Robert Lyons; so bring your appetite and dancing shoes because we are going to have lots of fun!
Due to the lack of a liquor license at the Fire Hall we feel that the last thing we should be responsible for is people drinking and driving, so alcohol will be limited.
A Special Message From Us
We would like to take this time to say how grateful we are to be blessed with such wonderful family and friends. For starters our families: Gavin (Son of the Bride and Groom), Russell and Linda Long (Parents of the Bride), Valorie Stehr and Robert Lyons (Parents of the Groom), Tyler Long (Brother of the Bride), Megan and Michael Zimmerman (Sister and Brother- in- Law of the Groom), Samantha Stehr (Sister of the Groom), Tegan Stehr (Nephew of the Groom) have been inspirational to us in so many ways and we will never be able to express how much you mean to us and how much we love you all, we are so excited to be one big happy, loving family with all of you. As for the rest of our friends and family: You have all helped us in so many ways by either supporting, mentoring, or just plain loving us and we appreciate you all so much! We are looking forward to sharing our special day, as well as the rest of our lives surrounded by such wonderfully caring people. Thanks!
