In order to suprise Darah, Kyle had to come up with an elaborate story! The day he proposed, Kyle was going into the mountains to go shooting with a friend of his. Darah was at home and just getting ready to lay down for a nap, when Kyle called and said he was at Lookout Mountain and that his car would not start. Kyle knew that Darah would call her dad to rescue Kyle because he was closer to Lookout Mountain than she was, and it was nap time!. So yes, Darah's dad was in on the whole thing and was "unavailable to help." Kyle also knew that Darah would be worried about getting her kids from school on time, so Kyle made sure Austin and Brock were available when she called and asked them to get the kids. Darah drove an hour up the mountain to rescue Kyle from his 'broken down' car.  When Darah pulled up, she noticed Kyle was dressed with a tie and was really confused why Kyle would wear a tie to go shooting! They both got out of their cars, Kyle had roses and got down on one knee when he proposed on the top of Lookout Mountian! He picked out the perfect ring and the perfect spot!
