 | Matthew and Rebecca met 3.5 years ago while Matthew was on a job in AR and Rebecca was in medical school in TN. “How is that even possible”? we have been asked multiple times. Well, we met online. Matt had a picture that highlighted his infectious smile, and when he messaged, it was obvious we had to meet. However, we were separated by a 10 hour drive at the time! So we talked over the phone and online and got to know each other very well. Finally, Matt made the bold move to drive to TN so we could meet in person. It was Memorial Day weekend and Becca was in Nashville which is 3 hours closer than where her medical school was, so it was perfect! The catch was that it was Becca’s brother’s high school graduation weekend and her entire family was in town to celebrate. When Matt arrived at the house, the whole family was there to greet him. He took it in stride, and met and hung out with the whole family the entire weekend. He fit in so well, we knew he was going to be a part of the family. 2 weeks later, Becca had moved to AR and was already invited on a family vacation to the Texas Hill Country with Matt’s mom’s family. Since family is so important to both of us, it was easy to be together from that point. We have lived in AR, TX, and now we live in NJ and we have made some incredible memories and had crazy adventures in each place. Whether it is camping in the hills of AR, dancing to country music in TX, or apple picking in NJ, we always manage to have fun together. Matt has been there through medical school, board exams, matching, and now the hardest part of medical education: Residency. We have been through some tough times, but we know that together we can get through anything. We are so excited to be starting the next phase of our relationship, and we are looking forward to the adventures that the future holds as husband and wife! |
