Dear Mum and Pops,
Words can not explain how much you both mean to me, but I will give it a go.
In a galaxy far far away....(jk)!
You two are the best parents I could ever ask for. I would not be the delightful woman I am today if I didn't have my corky parents.
Mum,
My mother is quite the character. How this woman puts up with all my bologna and still lives each day on this earth, I have no idea. I have put my mother through so much drama that I may have aged her thirty one extra years.
This lady is exactly like the Great and Powerful OZ. If I needed a heart, a brain and some courage, she would find a way to give me all three.
My mother is a strong willed woman, who is kind, loving, nurturing, intelligent, witty, humble and silly.
Through the years we have grown to be so close that we are not only mother and daughter or the bestest of friends, we are also roomies! (which is changing starting today)
My mother is my rock, my hero and my hope. She is a great listener, motivator and my biggest fan. She is there for me anytime I need her, day or night. No matter how many times I fall, she is right there to pick me up or give me a swift kick in the bum. She has always been right by my side holding my hand every step of the way. She has taught me everything I know and has a way of explaining things so I can understand it. My mother is the only one who can talk me out of any bad day and completely turn it around.
I may be thirty one years old but I will always be my mama’s baby girl and I will never stop depending on her like she depends on me. She is my everything and I couldn't love anyone the way I love my mama.
Thank you for being my mother and making this special day come true for Richard and I. We both appreciate all you have done for us and we are forever grateful. I love you more than the universe that surrounds our own.
Love,
Your baby girl
Daddy aka Papa Bear,
Out of all of the letters I have written on my website, your letter is by far the most challenging. My father is rare breed that many individuals don’t quite understand, but being a replica of my father gives me an advantage. My father is a kind hearted man whom always puts everyone before himself and would give anyone the last dime in his pocket.
My parents originally hoped for a boy for their second born. As you all can plainly see, I am not. That being said, my father was determined to raise me as the son he never had. He taught me how to ride my bike, play basketball, volleyball, and track. My father would spend hours everyday helping me to beat at my crafts. He took everything to the extreme in the sense that he even built me a half basketball court. He spent time even painting all the lines on the court as well, down to the free throw line. I grew up with around twelve boys in the neighborhood and after school they would all come over and play ball with me. My father would come out and coach me to help me be better than the boys were.
Then when it came to running I was freakishly fast. So fast, that my father would have me race any boy that came up to the house and everytime I won. One year I remember I joined the track team in middle school and ran many different events including hurdles. My father went out to the hardware store and made me my own hurdles to practice with at home. Now if that's not a devoted father, than I’m not sure what is.
He taught me to humble myself and to accept all walks of life. He taught me not to see color, to treat everyone the same. He taught me how to be handy around the house, both inside and outside. The list could go on forever.
I can not tell you how much I appreciate my father for the things he has done for me. I owe a lot to my father as he has set the bar fairly high for the man whom will take his place as my husband. My father’s shoes are extremely challenging to fill in my eyes. There isn’t much my father can’t do. The crazy thing is, if you know my father personally, he would never admit that about himself.
Daddy,
I look up to for almost everything. You seem to always have the answer to all my questions, and if you don’t you’ll gladly research it. Thank you for molding me to be who I am today, even if I might have strayed a little. Thank you for putting in the time to make sure I was always taken care of, even when I drove you nuts. Thank you for introducing me to the Lord our savior, Jesus Christ, the holy spirit and to the seventh day adventist. If it wasn’t for you and your relentlessness to never give up on me. I would never have known the lord like I do today. If it wasn’t for you, I would have never met the man of my dreams, Richard Vasquez. I am forever grateful Daddy and I will always be your little monster.
Love,
Your baby girl
