The wedding cocktail hour and reception will obviously be taking place after the ceremony and will be held on the beach. I wasn't too thrilled about that, but unfortunately the only other outdoor location where they host receptions is unavailable on the day of the wedding, and I really didn't want to have the reception inside (it's a carribean wedding afterall). But I have trust that the resort staff know what they are doing as they handle beach receptions all the time, and will make it as wonderful as possible. We do not expect super formal attire, more like "beach semi-formal". i.e. sun dresses/skirts for women, and men feel free to wear kahki pants/shorts, boat shoes and button ups. No need for formal suit and tie (though feel free if you truely wish). We're on a beach, not in a ballroom, so we really want everyone to feel comfortable! There will be a shoe check-in for those who wish to go barefoot, otherwise just make sure you bring a pare of shoes that will be suitable for the beach! (there will be a solid dacefloor provided as well). The ceremony itself will be at the garden gazeebo, so ladies if you really want to wear heels you can always change shoes for the reception afterward. |
