Bride

Prior to arriving in Hilton Head South Carolina, I set up several surprises for Nick.  The purpose for our vacation was to celebrate his birthday. He expected us to drive there in one day but he didn't know I had several surprises up my sleeve.  First stop Louisville KY, Second stop Nashville TN, Third stop Atlanta GA. After a few days of city hopping we finally arrived in Hilton Head.

My first surprise was a beautiful condo steps away from the ocean.  My next surprise wouldn't come for another day and since it was New Year's Eve Nick took control of the day.  We went to an amazing restaurant where we indulged in a 5 course dinner, then danced the night away brining in the New Year.  What better way to end the night, than with an unbelievable proposal on a beautiful island.....but that didn't happen.

New Year’s Day came and went. We enjoyed the island and relaxed all day.  Waking up the following day I was excited for the surprises I had planned for Nick, but what I didn't know was I would be the one surprised.  So, here’s how it happened:

I thought it would be a great idea to check out vacation homes since I knew Nick likes to vacation with family and friends.  So prior to arriving I set up an afternoon of house hunting.  I didn't share many details with Nick other than our appointment was with a woman named Molly.

With three homes on the list, we checked out the first two and immediately couldn’t wait to plan our next trip with a larger group.  As we left the second home I noticed Nick seemed a bit nervous.  He fidgeted with the gate and he tried to close it.  He then told me to get in the car so that we could drive to the next house but the next house was in the drive way next-door.  Confused and laughing, I just went with it.

We walked into the third home and he said, "Let's check out the upstairs first".  So I headed up the spiral stair case and the view was breathtaking. You could see the ocean for miles outside the floor to ceiling windows.  Amazed, I rush over to the patio door to open it but had trouble.  Once I finally got it opened I noticed rose petals and soft music playing.  My heart jumped out of my chest.  I thought they gave us keys to the wrong house and the owners were indisposed somewhere in a hot tub around the corner. Scared, I push Nick out the door and told him to go see what was going on.

He took my hand and lead me onto the balcony where there were rose petals, candles and Beyoncé and Steve Wonder's song So Amazing playing softly in the background.  After convincing me we didn’t break-in and it was all for me, I couldn't stop giggling and crying.  He got on bending knee and asked me to marry him. And of course I said YES!

Remember, I told you I spilled one small detail? Molly...well Nick googled her and FOUND HER! OMG, HOW, he only had her first name???!.  He told her his plans and she told him everything.  Not only did she tell him everything, but put him in contact with a woman who would set up the whole thing. So that morning while I was showering, getting dressed, etc. he was communicating with the ladies so that everything would be amazing. Amazing it was!!!!!! While I was busy planning his birthday trip to Hilton Head, SC.  He was busy retracing my steps, calling my contacts and setting up a proposal neither of us will ever forget.  #Soamazingtobeloved!

Oh, and for the final surprise an hour later I took Nick to the Heavenly Spa at the Westin.  Perfect timing!
